Peterborough City Council are looking for an experienced fraud investigator to develop and grow within our internal service. The Investigations Team are part of the Internal Audit service at PCC and are responsible for the prevention, detection and investigation of possible fraud and corruption in connection with all aspects of Corporate Fraud. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and career in fraud investigation.
The workload is full and varied. The post is the key link with the Department for Work and Pensions through the Single Fraud Investigation Service. You may be required to interview under caution in accordance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and associated Codes of Practice, where fraud is suspected.
To undertake the work we would like someone who is able to deal with difficult situations. Tight deadlines are required to be met but overall there is a need for accuracy. Are you able to cope with the pressure? Experience of working within a local government environment setting in a similar role would be advantageous.
