Team Description
The Business Change & Application Support team plays a central role in IBCI's digital transformation, both in helping to shape the blueprint for the future digital state and supporting the Run, Change and Transform initiatives for core applications used within IBCI to deliver the full suite of products and services.

Description of role and key responsibilities
Investec Bank (Channel Islands) is looking for a platform owner to focus on the strategic transformational change and support of its Core Banking and Payments platform.
Your focus will be to work with the banking operations and payments business owners and technical teams to define, implement and support the strategic and regulatory change roadmap for the supporting applications, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure an efficient banking experience for our clients and colleagues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding, including being a key contributor to, the design and development of the strategic direction of the applications in scope and owning the technical roadmap, with support from the operational business owners.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Working closely with the core banking and payments business owners, and technical teams at IBCI and across Investec jurisdictions, to support design thinking, prioritisation of change and the change approach, to ensure the best experience for Investec's clients and staff.
- Running workshops, influencing stakeholders, documenting business requirements and modelling processes, to ensure direction is defined and understood.
- Participating actively in iterations, planning and team retrospectives.
- Building user stories, test packs and their acceptance criteria, managing, and performing system testing, and coordinating user acceptance testing.
- Communicating change progress to all levels of stakeholders.
- Working closely with the Business Change & Application Support team to ensure alignment of roadmaps and resources for upgrades and change to other Investec applications.
- Managing end-to-end change for the banking and payments applications change and support initiatives, including creating implementation plans, and coordinating and managing the implementation approach and tasks, prior to and during the change.
- Assisting the payments business owners with management of business change such as people engagement and client focused activities such as training documentation and sessions and change communication.
- Work with internal business teams to ensure any issues are logged and resolved as quickly as possible, highlighting issues to Head of Business Change, Incident and/or Crisis Management Team when necessary.
- Managing the day-to-day relationships with the Investec UK Payments team and external suppliers, including attending regular service meetings and assisting with escalation of issues as required.
- Managing the core banking and payments budget and working with COO, Head of Business Change, and Digital business owners in relation to future budget planning and remaining within agreed budgets.
- Assisting where required with other change initiatives across IBCI.
Core skills, knowledge, and experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Project Management Certification
- Business Analysis Certifications
- Ability to manage wide variety of tasks and priorities
- 5 years or more experience in a similar role with an in-depth understanding of banking and payments and the change environment.
- 5 years or more experience working within the banking sector
- Self-motivated, driven and goal orientated.
- Strong people skills.
- Experience of leading people.
- Team player, cooperative and collaborative.
- An inquisitive and enquiring mind.
- Excellent analysis and project management skills with the ability to logically breakdown situations into their essential parts.
