Job description
Please submit a covering letter with your CV so we can get to know you and your writing style.
Who are we?
field&flower was founded in 2011 by two friends after meeting at agricultural university, one a farmer and the other a food lover. We are a leading UK food subscription business specialising in grass fed, free-range meat and sustainable fish. As our business is rooted in traditional British farming, our aim is to reconnect the customer with British free-range farms and deliver award winning ethical produce without compromise.
Does this sound like you?
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to gain copywriting experience whilst working for a leading DTC food brand. The ideal candidate must be interested in food and farming. You will be required to learn and write about complex agricultural and butchery topics, including regenerative farming, the relevance of heritage breeds, and animal welfare certifications. As part of the role, you will be expected to engage with topical news stories relevant to our industry (for example, the meat vs plant-based eating debate).
As copywriting intern, you must be able to quickly and confidently grasp our brand TOV, transforming complex topics into interesting and digestible content.
This is a 3-month internship with an immediate start.
The opportunity
12 years after founding, Field & Flower are about to embark on their very first rebrand. You’ll play a key part in this process, writing new copy across a variety of channels and helping to develop our brand message (this will be integral to our launch campaign). There will also be opportunity to visit and interview our farmers throughout the internship.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibility will be copywriting and proofreading. The copy you produce will help to develop the story behind our rebrand launch and must present Field & Flower as an expert in food and farming at all times. We consider ourselves a “challenger brand”. As such, your copy must confidently challenge preconceived ideas about food, farming and meat consumption. The role will not involve social media content production or involvement in performance marketing channels, but you may be required to work on ad hoc marketing tasks to assist with the rebrand.
