Newcomer Connections is a key pillar within the YMCA family. Established in 1993, Y Newcomer Connections is a leading immigrant settlement centre focused on creating connections that will transform our community into a lasting, healthy home for immigrants from around the world and from all walks of life.
The Opportunity
The Data and Evaluation Coordinator works alongside the Y Newcomer Connections Leadership team to evaluate our KPI progress and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality programming and services. This position is responsible for developing all the tools necessary to carry out ongoing process improvement activities and monitor our established funder metrics. Additionally, this position spearheads the Client Advisory Committee and all quality assurance activities for the Newcomer Connections Department. This position reports to the Manager, Newcomer Programming.
Responsibilities
- Work with the CRM and Data Specialist to analyze KPI trends;
- Ensure each team understands their unique KPIs and progress;
- Regularly sends reports to relevant Managers and Supervisors to ensure targets are being met;
- Develops and implements evaluation and quality assurance frameworks for Newcomer Connections.
- Analyze the information collected through the different QA activities in the different programs and services.
- Provide annual Quality Assurance Report on initiatives carried out throughout the year;
- Responsible for engaging, chairing the Client Advisory Committee, and reporting to the Leadership team on their recommendations.
- Proactively explore ways to enhance services to clients (ongoing);
- Keep up-to-date with theory, practice, sector trends, and policies as it relates to the work of the settlement sector at the local, regional, national, and international levels;
- Provide data input into IRCC iCare narrative reports and other relevant funder reports;
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the GM of Newcomer and Community Connections.
Skills and Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree, Community College diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution;
- Post-graduate education is an asset.
- Understanding and knowledge of Quality Assurance and/or Evaluation best practices
- Certificate in Quality Assurance/Evaluation Practices is an asset (Lean Six Sigma or similar)
- Demonstrated experience as a trainer or adult educator
- Understanding of the settlement sector at a regional and national level
- Business analyst experience is an asset
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and collaboratively
- Approachable and possessing a strong client-centric attitude
- Heightened sensitivity to the needs of our immigrant clients
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a cross-cultural environment
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
- Computer competency in Microsoft 365 suite
- Ability to adapt to and learn new technologies independently.
- Must be fluent in the English language; knowledge of other languages is an asset
