Job description
LawDeb is an unusual and exciting proposition. On a day-to-day basis we are nimble, ambitious and small enough to know everyone by name, whilst also benefitting from the profile and credibility of a listed business. This is thanks to our 132 year old FTSE250 investment trust and our fast growing independent professional services business of 220 colleagues across 6 business lines.
Department
Company Secretarial Services (CSS)… when we say this is our department, we often get a blank look! CSS is a consulting outsource arm of LawDeb, providing clients with support, fulfilling their annual corporate compliance obligations and facilitating good governance practices.
What does this mean… each year a company has a number of legal obligations to fulfill in order to stay compliant with local law (UK and internationally); companies outsource these tasks to us and our role is to monitor and action these requirements. These legal obligations include but are not limited to:
- Reporting to the local company registries e.g. Companies House, with updates and changes to company information and shareholders
- Submission of financial accounts
- Holding meetings for the board of directors as a facilitator
We support clients throughout their lifecycle from set up, annual and ad hoc requirements to business closures.
Roles
We are recruiting individuals to join our fast growing and ambitious CSS team. In our roles you can expect to be involved in a wide range of tasks to ensure that our clients’ companies are compliant with local requirements. Managing client relationships is a key part of ensuring excellent client service is at the core of everything we do.
We have a number of different opportunities across our Global and UK CSS departments and depending on the team the focus of your role will either be project management based or working with clients to consult and advise.
There are opportunities for further study and qualifications in some roles, but if Uni days are over for you, we have opportunities in our teams where study is not required to progress.
Depending on role duties may include:
- Working across a range of jurisdictions worldwide, managing the relationship between the client and the local legal team or drafting corporate documents for UK companies and advising clients on UK corporate matters.
- Ensuring our clients are compliant with legal corporate requirements.
- Managing client relationship being the main point of contact and ensuring client satisfaction with the overall service.
- Assisting clients with ad hoc requests and administrative matters (authorised signatory requests, board minute extracts, secretary certificates, auditor requests, etc.)
- Maintaining company information databases and tracking deadlines
- Leading monthly update calls with the client to review progress and ensure that all action points are completed
- Ensuring that invoices for work completed are issued, accurately and on time
- Onboarding new clients and engaging our local legal teams
- Building relationships with teams across Law Debenture
Is this you?
We are looking for candidates who will bring enthusiasm, energy and flexibility to the role, with the desire to strive and go the extra mile. In return, we’ll provide the tools and training to help you to progress your career and maximise your potential.
