Tops Days Nursery in Portsmouth is seeking a Cook to join our team, working on a full-time capacity. This is a fun, exciting nursery situated just outside of the city centre.

Duties:
- Ensure the hygiene and conditions of the food preparation, from ordering, to clearing and meet the standards as required by the law.
- Ensure the kitchen is clean and tidy (cupboards kept clean, fridge/freezer defrosted regularly, oven cleaned regularly).
- Involve yourself as a leading team member of food hygiene team, to ensure that all aspects of food hygiene law adhered to.
- Provide meals that children enjoy
- Ensuring food is purchased in good time and within budget.
- Ensuring any celebrations/dietary needs etc. to be taken into account when costing.
- Ensuring meals are tailored to the dietary and cultural needs of those requiring them. The meal should be balanced and nutritious, avoiding colourings, preservatives and flavourings if possible.
- To be committed to the safeguarding of all children in the nursery
Minimum requirement:
- Ideally have a basic food hygiene qualification at level 2 or above
- Have experience in a similar position of cooking for a large number of people in mass
- Have a passion for cooking
- Experience in cooking for people with dietary and cultural conditions
- Be IT literate and have intermediate skills with Microsoft Office programmes due to ordering and budgeting of food for the nursery
- Need a clear and valid DBS – oversee applicants will need a clear and valid certificate of good conduct
