Principle Duties
This is an exciting position, with a huge potential to improve our restaurant facility and the public perception. Working alongside the café team to improve the customer experience of visiting the Beaver Lodge Café, the successful candidate will be able to actively engage in prioritising customer satisfaction whilst delivering high quality food.
Duties
- Prepare and cook fresh food from scratch using fresh produce.
- Provide exceptional standards in all aspects of food service, an attention to detail is vital.
- Ensure all food/ meals are produced on time for the various service requirements.
- Occasionally prepare large quantities of homemade meals.
- Prepare food in accordance with all guidelines and legislations.
- Ensure that the kitchen, equipment and utensils are all properly maintained, cleaned and correctly stored away and / or ready each day, including emptying and cleaning of fryers, ovens and panini machines. Any defects are to be reported promptly to the Head of Food and Beverage or Cafe Manager in their absence.
- Responsible for the presentation of all produced and served foods.
- Preparation and delivery of high quality refreshments for events, lunches and meetings.
- Monitor and organise stock levels at all times and ensure that deliveries are met and are promptly stored away as appropriate.
- Clear away all food stations and undertake daily washing up duties.
- Maintain temperature control standards for all food.
- Participate in all general catering and restaurant duties in our restaurant and hot food kiosks.
- Ensure that all personal and food hygiene procedures are applied at all times.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
The successful applicant will have the confidence to carry out tasks independently, whilst also having the ability to work productively and successfully with a team.
Applicants must have
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a commercial kitchen.
- Level 2 food safety and hygiene certificate.
Other Considerations
- The post is advertised as zero-hour contract. It will require 1 weekend day, occasional bank holiday and evening working.

Employment Package
- Core working hours are 0800 until 17.00 with an unpaid half an hour for lunch. This post is advertised as a zero-hour contract. The job will involve some evening and at least 1 weekend day as part of your normal duties.
- The holiday allowance is pro-rated on the basis of a full-time entitlement of 30 days paid holiday during each holiday year (including any bank holiday entitlements), calculated on a pro rata basis depending on the number of hours worked.
- Appointments are subject to confirmation after a six-month probation period.
