Job Description:
Are you known for your customer-focused approach and meticulous attention to detail? Resident X is actively searching for a self-assured and motivated individual to join our team as a Kitchen Staff Member. In the role of Kitchen Staff Member, you will be a pivotal part of our culinary operations, ensuring that every dish served reflects our commitment to quality and taste.
This position is for the resident food outlet in Resident X which is currently an adaption of the Aberdam Dutch Fries franchise called Dam Burger, but will become something new in the coming weeks.
Our team is made up of 4 people including you and we have worked hard on developing our standards of service and food preparation. The team usually works one on at a time apart from the busier perdios where 2 people will work in tandem to ensure fast and high quality service. The team is incentivised with rewards to make high sales and to get high reviews online as a means to promote the business.
For these reasons the following is a general description for the kind of person we are looking for:
- Previous kitchen experience (minimum of 1 year).
- Knowledge and understanding of allergens and key ingredients.
- Can talk about Kitchen safety and hygiene confidently.
- Proven record of good time keeping.
- Proven record of following instructions well.
- Can display great ability to adapt and be flexible.
- Can work with others as well as alone.
- Have good written and verbal English skills.
- Can use a laptop and iPad (this what our till system is on so this is essential).
- Personal presentation.
- Solid communication skills.
- Problem solver.
The interview process will involve a sit down conversation and then a practical test where you’ll be asked to create one of our iconic burgers! This is simply to prove you have the kitchen skills and hygiene knowledge stated on your application.
As the new offering may not involve proper cooking craft we are looking for candidates looking to make a career in Hospitality starting from the basics, but the drive to learn on the job. We are a motivated team so you will have good support to help you out.
The Responsibilities:
- Preparing and cooking food as per the brand spec sheets.
- Following health and safety ALWAYS.
- Friendly and warm customer engagement.
- Competitive selling in order to compete with the other vendors.
- Cleaning the kitchen and completing the necessary records.
- Communicating with the team in person and in our sub team WhatsApp chat.
- Taking instructions.
- Handling deliveries.
- Completing weekly and daily cleaning tasks.
- Attending necessary training including regular team meetings.
- Always wearing the uniform and clothing required.
