Job description

Are you up for the challenge of becoming MDC’s first Chief of Staff? This role is a high-visibility strategic partner that supports the CEO and executive team with effective decision-making, project management, and execution of strategic initiatives across the organization.

The Chief of Staff will facilitate the organizational and communication framework for executives, employees, and leadership team members to adopt the organization’s mission, vision and achieve our annual goals.

Our Chief of Staff will focus on near-term operational support and strategic planning and projects to ensure the growth and maturity of the organization.

About the Role:

  • Develop strong, trust-based relationships with the Executive Leadership team, key cross-functional leaders, and employees.
  • Assess all inquiries directed to the Executive Leadership team, filter key information and determine priority and the proper course of action based on business strategies.
  • Keep the Executive Leadership team organized with logistics, meetings, and emails throughout the day to relieve them of administrative work.
  • Responsible for the coordination and cadence of Executive meetings, company Town Halls, and the annual executive planning offsite. This includes arranging the format and details and sending invites. Requesting inputs from stakeholders, preparing slide decks, and keeping meetings on track. Will take meeting minutes in order to provide follow-up actions to responsible parties, and track progress on agreed-upon objectives.
  • Assist with the preparation of company-wide communications including talks, speeches, reports, and presentations that appropriately reflect the voice, tone, and goals of the executive team.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Leadership team to track high-priority initiatives to help identify and mitigate any/potential obstacles.
  • Contribute and monitor progress in tasking related to any merger and acquisition integration activities.
  • Provide the Executive Leadership team with insight and analysis on the company operations and provide recommendations on improvements across the organization.
  • Operate at a tactical, strategic, and operational level, handling the oversight of projects that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or that fall between departments or leadership areas of responsibility.
  • Perform additional ad hoc duties within area of practice to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization's Values.

Education: Degree in business administration, finance, similar field or relevant experience.
Experience: 10+ years of support experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments with a focus on supporting small to mid-tier federal government contracting businesses and their C-suite executives.

Location: Hybrid, 3 days a week at corporate headquarters in Manassas, Virginia.
