We have an exciting new opportunity for a Financial Controller to work here at Thrive Homes!

*Please note this is fixed term contract role up until March 2024*

The Opportunity

  • Manage the Finance function to deliver effective and robust financial controls by maintaining the Financial Regulations and Delegated Authorities.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of Financial Accounting including delivery of the annual financial statements for all group entities.
  • Support the month-end process, including production of the Management Accounts and reconciliations sign off for all group entities
  • Support delivery of the budget and quarterly forecast process
  • Monthly preparation of cashflows and Regular cash-flow reporting and analysis to support funding requirements.
  • Provide clear, concise Finance reports that summarise performance to a range of stakeholders to enable effective decision making and supporting preparation of Board papers.
  • Monitor and be responsible for Internal audit for Finance and implement recommendations. Lead on Annual Audit ensuring a clean audit report is achieved with no significant audit management letter points raised for all group entities.
  • Ensuring timely, accurate Regulatory Returns (SDR and FVA) are completed, signed off and submitted in line with guidance.
  • Work in partnership with Treasury and Business Planning to support delivery of strong Group Business Plans.
  • Responsibility for all elements of Thrive’s Tax planning and strategy including Corporation Tax, VAT and charitable reliefs ensuring all returns are filled accurately and within deadline.
  • Be the lead for the development and maintenance of accounting systems (including the chart of accounts) ensuring robust processes and controls for transaction processing exist.
  • Support the implementation of the new finance system and ERP system across the business by working closely with the project manager and Finance lead to ensure desired outcomes are achieved within the agreed timescales.

Requirements

  • CCAB qualified.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a senior role.
  • Demonstrable experience applying CCAB qualification within work experience.
  • You can demonstrate a track record of delivery against our key deliverables or a foundation on which can be built to fulfil the full brief.
  • We are flexible in how you have achieved your skills and experience, through education or through worked experience.
  • Your ability to role model our core behaviours is as important as technical expertise.
  • You must be able to support a culture founded in trust and respect for everyone
