We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our busy Finance team responsible for the day-to-day delivery of full accounts payable function and key controls, including control account reconciliations. This role will lead the financial administration of our purchase order system and act as the first point of contact for all supplier queries, championing our processes and procedures.
Details of the Finance Controller role
Day-to-day delivery of the accounts payable function, from processing & matching of invoices to purchase orders to preparing payments for approval (regular BACS runs and online payments) in line with credit terms.
Processing of volunteer/staff expenses.
The sole responsibility for the financial administration
Setting up new supplier records and maintaining up to date records
Managing the Accounts Payable Finance inbox
Responsible for reconciling supplier statements
Continuous scrutiny of transactions to ensure they adhere to the Trust’s Policies and Procedures
Providing cover for the accounts receivable function when needed
Delivering purchase ledger month-end close procedures, including relevant balance sheet reconciliations, aged creditor reviews at a month end working to tight deadlines.
First point of contact for suppliers and the Trust's employees in relation to invoice queries.
Responsible for the administration of cash requests and banking.
Supporting the Financial Controller in developing the finance system in relation to purchase ledger process improvements.
Carry out any other reasonable duties, in line with role requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Experience :
Experience of working in an accounts payable role, including having responsibility for or supporting the administration of a purchase order system
Hands-on experience with Excel and accounting software (knowledge of Access Dimensions desirable)
Experience of handling communications with clients and vendors via phone and email
Skills :
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders Flexibility and adaptability to change
Strong numeracy and IT skills, including working knowledge of MS Office applications and spreadsheets, and the ability to learn new systems and software quickly
