What you'll do
- Oversees the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Leads the team of internal and outsourced people in the accounting department, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance management, etc.
- Ensures month end accounting close process is completed timely and accurately and all reporting supports the company's management objectives.
- Responsible for the completion of monthly reporting explaining significant variance from budget and prior year
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Supervises all accounting transactions and general ledger reconciliations for all accounting areas including Revenue recognition and contractual allowances, Payroll & bonus accounting, and Treasury accounting, etc.
- Coordinates the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
What you bring
- 10+ years of Accounting experience including minimum of 5 in management
- Degree in Accounting or Finance (or related)
- CPA or equivalent - preferred
- Managing External Service Providers (MSP)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize information, develop insights and communicate effectively in presentations and in-person meetings
- Outstanding process and project management skills, including coordinating activities across multiple departments
- Strong business acumen and attention to detail
- Excellent oral & written communication skills and Microsoft Office skills
- Strong problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills
