Ipswich Town Football Club is looking for a Financial Controller/Head of Finance for a permanent full-time role to support the Chief Financial Officer. Within this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day finance and accounting, ensuring the company meets all reporting obligations and supports the information needs of all key stakeholders.
The role will have primary responsibility for month end, quarterly and annual accounts and will maintain all financial systems with accurate and timely information.
The role will also lead on cash management and planning, including forecasts for the Board, EFL in respect of FFP.

Key Responsibilities…
· To maintain the books and ledgers of the club and its associated companies
· Complete month end accounts accurately and on time, with supporting reconciliations as necessary.
· Deliver the complete P&L, BS and CF in line with the reporting timetable, completing comparisons to budgets and forecasts, analysing variances where arising.
· To complete VAT returns for VAT registered entities.
· To complete cash flow forecasts for the Board and investors.
· Provide management insight and support to all divisions of the club
· To liaise with auditors and tax advisors to complete annual accounts.
· To work with divisional business leaders outside of finance in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and the on-going monitoring of performance versus budgets.
· To undertake line management of finance team members where required
Person Specification - Essential Criteria:
Education & Experience:
· 2+ Years’ experience completing all aspects of company accounts for an SME, including ledger entries and reconciliations.
· 2+ Years’ experience in a similar role (FC, Chief Accountant, Head of Accounting)
· ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified.
· Qualified in practice with a “Big 4” firm/ large reputable firm.
· Experience in preparing and completing VAT returns.
· Experience liaising with auditors and other advisors.
· Experience of interacting with teams outside of the finance function, and understanding how finance can support them in their roles.
· Exposure to producing budgets and forecasts, and monitoring these on a regular basis.
· Experience rolling out new systems or processes within an organisation.
· Has performed line management of team members in a finance function.

Person Specification - Desired Criteria:
Education & Experience:
· Has worked in Professional Football
· Has prepared and monitored monthly cashflows for a complete business
· Has worked in a community engaging business
· Has prepared materials and presentations for use at Board level
Knowledge:
· Good business understanding
· Good working knowledge of SAGE, Quickbooks or other relevant accounting software
