General/Hire Controller
Responsible To: Workshop Manager
Depot Location: Newcastle
Hours: 08.00 – 17.30, Monday – Friday.
As with all roles at CRH Plant, reasonable flexibility is a requirement of the role.
Role Profile
The Hire Controller position will be responsible for the day to day running of a busy hire office processing customer orders and organising transport, managing transport delivery drivers.
Responsibilities:
· Ensuring safe working practices are maintained at all times
· Day to day running of a hire office
· Conducting regular in-house checks to ensure compliance to procedures.
· Ensuring all plant records are kept up to date including lifting certificates
· Ensuring Insurance data base is kept up to date
· The role involves direct communication with the depot managers to ensure customers machine requirements are available on the dates required for hire.
· Organising transport for equipment deliveries / collections
· Process paperwork for customer on / off hires
Role Requirements:
- Good communicator
- Excellent telephone manner
- Familiarisation with compaction equipment -though machine specific training will be provided
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office
- The role involves direct communication with customers and depot managers to ensure customers machine requirements are available on the dates required for hire.
- Additional training will be given to the successful applicant
