Financial Controller – Scunthorpe – up to £55,000

Chase & Holland are excited to working in partnership with a distribution business based in Scunthorpe who are looking for a driven Financial Controller, as a result of an internal promotion. This role plays a key part in ensuring the business is running in a manner which maximises it’s financial position and opportunities. You will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the department.

Reporting to the Finance Director, Financial Controller responsibilities will include:

• Providing leadership to the finance team to ensure it’s running smoothly, whilst striving to continuously improve the system and processes
• Preparation of annual budgets, P&L and Balance Sheet forecasts
• Overseeing the month end reporting and providing commentary on the figures
• Cashflow forecasting
• Business partnering to ensure robust internal controls are in place across the business
• Challenging the business on cost bases
• Supporting the pricing team with stock and margin modelling
• Supporting the operations team with regular stock checks and bi-annual full stock takes
• Ensuring compliance of legal and stat requirements in a timely manner including VAT, PAYE and ONS
• Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with business critical reporting

Required Skills & Experience:

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
• Highly analytical with great attention to detail
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Experience of team management
