Purpose of the position:
Own and manage the central Financial planning, analysis and reporting process for Operations across the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions, inclusive of 26 manufacturing sites across 18 countries and amounting to a cost base for approximately €800m.
Working collaboratively with finance and non-finance stakeholders from the local management teams to help execute and influence the strategic financial targets for Operations with a strong focus for year on year cost improvement. Challenging assumptions as well as providing the necessary support and guidance to drive data integrity for the Operations Finance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage annual budget and quarterly forecast process for all manufacturing plants across the region. Support and guide financial controllers from all locations and complete a full consolidated and comprehensive review for the region.
- Lead the monthly consolidation and detailed review of regional manufacturing P&L. Interpret, challenge and influence monthly reporting from local plant controllers to ensure a comprehensive and accurate view of financial performance for senior stakeholder groups.
- Contribute to the presentation and discussion of operations financial performance with Senior operations and finance leadership teams.
- Own and maintain operational cost and KPI reporting for the region. Interpret and challenge data by exercising acquired business knowledge. Helping to embed cost ownership across all plant management teams and drive year on year cost improvements.
- Track plant cost saving performance against targets and manage consolidated reporting for the region. Working collaboratively with the regional continuous improvement teams within Operations to ensure accurate interpretation of financial data and provide key insights to help prioritise efforts towards cost saving initiatives.
- Track and provide financial governance for tracking cost savings from metal reduction programs across all manufacturing plants. Working cross functionally with key stakeholder groups within global engineering and commercial teams.
- Drive consistency of reporting across operations finance. Collaborating and influencing plant controllers across all plants. Interacting with Global Finance to strive towards companywide best practices.
- Interpret and be able to communicate the underlying financial strategy and targets for operations and to be able to provide guidance and stewardship as part of the central operations finance controlling function.
Knowledge and experience required:
- Minimum 3 years FP&A experience within multi-national business
- SAP R3 and Essbase knowledge
- Responsibility of managing elements of an FP&A process e.g. month end and forecasts
- Interacting and influencing stakeholders across a range of regions and cultures
- Working to deadlines & attention to detail
- Strong and effective communicator
- Team oriented & stakeholder focused
