Controls Assurance Manager – UK Sox

Fixed Term

Edinburgh or Newcastle

Salary up to £54600

What we’ll offer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and help shape the Bank’s compliance with an important piece of upcoming regulation, “UK Sox”. The role will provide a wide level of exposure to a variety of processes, products and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the Bank, meaning you will be able to gain exposure to the wider Bank in a way few roles can provide.

This is your chance to show us how well you work collaboratively in improving the controls we need, as well as gaining access to multiple internal processes and products that play to your strengths - building your career within the Tesco Bank family.

The UK Sox regulation is new to the UK, and being involved in these early stages will provide successful candidates with early insight and experience, being at the forefront of an area that will be in focus for several years.

Otherwise, this is generally an exciting time to join Tesco Bank, as we adopt Agile practices across the Bank which are likely to provide key skills required for the future.

The Role

You will be working on:

  • capturing and documenting processes, highlighting the key risk points;
  • identifying the relevant controls that are, or need to be, in place, using your expertise to create and implement key policies and control improvements.
  • ensuring the timely implementation of corrective actions necessary to remedy any required uplifts identified through testing key internal financial controls.
  • testing the controls to verify that they are taking place and working as intended;
  • continually updating process documentation and risk/control system inputs
  • a variety of processes, products, with varied stakeholders, that will provide excellent exposure, and demand good prioritisation and time management
  • coordinating efforts across multiple functions and departments to ensure compliance requirements are met within required deadlines.

What you’ll bring

We don’t expect you to tick every box, and if you feel you hit most of the brief, it’s worth exploring to further develop your career here with us at Tesco Bank.

  • Ideally you will have,
  • An accountancy qualification
  • Experience of SOX compliance
  • A track record of delivering an enhanced control environment and robust reporting
  • Experience in managing senior stakeholders
  • Audit/risk management experience #LI-NT1
