Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience

THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Specialist to be responsible for commercial contract reviews and provide general commercial support, working within the wider Commercial Operations team, to business stakeholders. Additionally, you will contribute to the function of the wider Commercial Operations team.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial and Procurement, your primary responsibility will be reviewing commercial contracts in relation to BBB’s suppliers in accordance with BBB’s supplier management risk statement and appetite; this will include reviewing, interpreting, drafting, amending and negotiating various types of commercial documents, working collaboratively within the Commercial Operations team from a commercial law perspective and supporting the business in the procurement and contract reviews process.
It is essential that you are a qualified in England & Wales as a solicitor, holding a valid practising certificate or are a Certified Legal Executive. You will have sound commercial awareness and judgement, with an ability to provide commercially focussed contractual and commercial advice proportionate to the legal, reputational, and operational risks inherent in the task at hand. You will have good technical drafting and negotiating skills, with knowledge of public procurement law being a distinct advantage.
An understanding of different contract structures including frameworks, single service agreements and supplier terms is essential. Familiarity with IT contracts, prior in-house experience and knowledge of data protection, freedom of information law and IT/IP would be highly advantageous.
You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships, as you will work closely with stakeholders at all levels across the business, managing expectations effectively.
