Reporting to the Managing Director you will effectively manage the Contracts team where you will be pivotal in directing all operational aspects of the business strategy for installation activities and aftersales, helping to set strategic targets. Directing the flow of operational activity ensuring that business objectives are met efficiently and effectively, to include management of contracts, through to completion and handover. Supervising Project Managers and Coordinator to programme and track projects.

This is a pivotal multi-faceted role. Directing the handover from Estimating, Design and Fabrication through to the Contracts Department and supervising through to completion of the project and payment of invoices. This involves directing and liaising with the contracts team, other internal operational departments, external trades and customers to meet business expectation and ultimately the expectation of the clients.

· To appoint Project Managers (PM’s) to a contract, based on skillset and involvement required.

· Attend and plan internal pre-start meetings for larger/complex jobs, to ensure we are prepared and aware of the scope of works.

· Be aware of upcoming projects and discuss progression, feeding back to clients and PM’s.

· Attend site meetings, with clients, where required, prestart as well as progress meetings.

· Programming works in line with production schedule.

· Regularly check the progress of the Production Schedule to understand delays or push for advancement with client programmes in mind.

· Co-chair Production planning meetings with the Head of Design and Manufacture, to ensure all departments are working together to bring jobs in on time and to understand the performance of the business.

· Provide guidance to PM’s to keep track of projects.

· Ensure PM’s are driving installation in line with targets and budget.

· Working with the Contracts Coordinator to ensure fitting diary is in line with programmes and any changes are being relayed to clients and PM’s.

· Liaising with clients to understand site needs and programme.

· Chair staged internal update meetings to ensure we are working to schedule and to flag up any early warnings of delays. Keep the team up to date with progression of contracts.

· Attend weekly Management meetings to discuss all aspects of the business and staff issues.

· Ensure all teams member’s training records are up to date. Identify any further training requirements to help personal progression to be better effective in their roles. Manage the training of all department workers for their respective roles ensuring competence and quality in delivered work. This will include making HR aware of any courses required.

· Ensure company vehicles are being maintained and looked after.

· To understand fitters and PM’s site issues with regards to product. Feedback to Head of Design & Manufacture to discuss and plan improvements.

· Ensuring the fitters are working in accordance with the RAM’s and understand the importance of site safety.

· Enforcing quality of work and attention to detail.

Compliance alongside Finance Director

  • Advise on the company Compliance and Business Documentation policies and procedures, revising and creating new documents as and when required.
  • Advise on the Factory Production Control Manual, revising and creating new documents as and when required.
  • Monitor the completion of departmental compliance documents and requirements.
  • Carry out monthly H&S inspections of both units.
  • Chair quarterly and annual health & safety meetings.
  • Chair quarterly factory quality control meetings.
  • Arrange all annual assessments, inspections and audits.
  • Liaise with our external Health & Safety advisor to arrange twice yearly inspections and the annual fire risk assessment.
  • Ensure all accidents and near misses are recorded and maintain an annual record.

Salary dependent on experience.
