WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER


The Finance & Contract Specialist will provide highly specialized contract/procurement and finance/accounting-related services to the People Team. They will provide a range of administrative, compliance, contract/procurement, and finance-related support to the Director of Finance & Operations and are responsible for expeditiously and courteously responding to, routing, or resolving inquiries and requests from internal and/or external customers. Specific responsibilities may include:

Finance & Accounting

  • Receiving, organizing, and keying invoices from a variety of sources into the Accounts Payable system ensuring payments are being made in accordance with an established budget and source, and preparing invoices for payment
  • Approve incoming invoice payment requests according to TNC’s established policies and procedures
  • Approve expense reports ensuring spending is in compliance with established guidelines and consistency across the Business unit
  • Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets, financial reporting and communicating financial information to project staff
  • Preparing journal entries and other financial transactions, researching transactions and determining follow-up actions

Contracting

  • Working closely with project leads to prepare agreements (including amendments) between TNC and its partners, grantees, consultants and vendors
  • Obtaining necessary approvals
  • Maintaining contract files to ensure they are complete and in compliance with TNC SOPs
  • Providing guidance, and/or materials to staff on compliance with standard operating procedures as they relate to non-real estate contracts, and best practices for contracts and procurement

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and 3 years' related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience with accounting/financial issues and analysis.
  • Experience using accounting and financial reporting systems.
  • Technical experience with spreadsheet programs, general ledger reports and financial management tools.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with SAP Concur
  • Experience in database management and spreadsheet software; constructing and producing reports; data input, manipulation and analysis
  • Experience with contract development
  • Ability to obtain contract specialist certification
  • Strong organizational skills, including establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of data entry
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciated
  • Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data. Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
