Due to expediential growth in our business, we have an exciting opportunity and are recruiting for a Contract Manager to join our team based in Northampton/Peterborough region.
A good eye for detail, sound horticultural knowledge and ability to work closely with and support clients on strategy, design and management of Grounds Contracts as well as developing and managing the team you work with to deliver award winning grounds maintenance services.
An understanding and demonstrable ability on small landscape projects, as well as good environmental skills and understanding of Bio diversity in the landscape is strongly desirable.

Job Purpose
As a Contract Manager, you will be able to proactively manage your operations team to enable the effective running of a portfolio of client contracts in order to fulfil the client requirements within agreed financial parameters. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of direct client liaison, day-to-day management of people (directly employed and sub-contractors) as well as a proactive approach for estimating for new business. Building relationships with the rest of the management team and develop the regional grounds maintenance contracts within the Northampton /Peterborough area - covering all our services from Grounds maintenance and soft landscaping to Winter gritting and Arboriculture works.
Most importantly, you will need to show your knowledge, enthusiasm, and skill for landscape management. We require someone who can communicate well, who has excellent relationship building skills together with the capability to lead by example.

Duties and Responsibilities
- To be conversant with the needs of Nurture Landscapes and of each of your client’s contractual terms.
- To support in the evaluation, and implementation of service changes, managing any financial, people and Operational implications.
- Manage general work standards and financial performance targets on a monthly basis within agreed targets.
- Provide a visible presence to engender a sense of well-being for your team, clients and end users.
- Ensure compliance with and set an example to others in relation to Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Produce and complete all related administrative processes, record keeping and reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
- Prepare job pricing in line with company expectations and fulfilling the client’s needs with support from your contract manager.
- Communicate regularly and in person with clients in a professional manner effectively managing issues, offering innovations, additional services and performance feedback.
- To manage and motivate your team ensuring consistently good levels of attendance and quality and quantity of output.
- To assist with the effective recruitment and promotion of the right people within your area of responsibility and to identify the on-going development needs of your team via formal and informal processes.
- To manage all performance matters in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and Procedures under guidance of your line manager.
- To undertake any other duties that may be required within your area of your responsibility.
Relevant Qualifications:
(Ideally one or more of the qualifications listed below, or other relevant qualification dependent upon site or contract)
- BSc in Horticulture
- City and Guilds/NVQ Amenity Horticulture Stage I and II
- City and Guilds/NVQ Amenity Horticulture Management Phase III and IV
- HND Amenity Horticulture.
- HND Landscape Management
- Contract Manager April 2022
- I.O.G. Diploma in Turf Culture
- Diploma in Management Studies
- IOSH, ROLO or other Health and Safety Qualification
Skills and experiences:
- Minimum of five years management experience within corporate landscape management
- Minimum three years practical work experience in landscape maintenance
- A solid and practical understanding of the importance of health & safety at work
- A good knowledge of horticulture and landscape maintenance
- A relevant horticultural / landscaping qualification would help your application
