Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to join The Crosby Group as a Continuous Improvement Manager. Your mission will be to apply and promote the 5 main lean principles, define value, process mapping, creating flow, establishing pull and continuous improvement. In conjunction with other team members, you will ensure production costs and labour efficiency objectives are achieved through elimination of wastes as defined in lean principles and optimizing techniques employed in production.

Main Responsibilities:

Safety:

  • Ensure compliance to all Health & Safety policies & procedures.
  • Identify safety risks within the facility & implement corrective actions.
  • Promote risk identification with team members to ensure knowledge & understanding of safety rules.
  • Participate in annual risk analysis of all operational equipment & manufacturing processes.

Profit:

  • Support production, quality & efficiency outputs of all manufacturing functions.
  • Lead & support make or buy projects – business case to solution.
  • Lead & support appropriate cost-down projects for all purchased parts & services.

Production:

  • Ensure manufacturing output is respecting all quality requirements as detailed by customer specification & technical validation.
  • Identify production bottlenecks & propose improvement actions to remove constraints and improve service & costs.
  • Develop and verify work practices in line with standard operating procedures.
  • Support all Production Managers, Supervisors & Team Leaders in daily manufacturing techniques & improvement actions.

Process:

  • Ensure 5S principles are embedded in daily standard practices.
  • Maintain operational disciplines & promote improved production standards.
  • Evaluation, development & implementation of processes to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Validation of production standard operating procedures in line with ISO9000 standards.
  • Participate and promote pipeline improvement projects for safety, cost and productivity activities within the production areas.

People:

  • Ensure all legal & ethical standards are known & respected by team members.
  • Support training of team members to develop required skills.
  • Ensure communication between functions is precise & utilized to maintain an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Daily attendance at required production meetings.

Progress:

  • Make suggestions for improvement & implement agreed actions.
  • Lead & participate in improvement projects according to business requirements.
  • Support company TPM program to ensure compliance against all machine standards.
  • Lead cycle time analysis & improvement investments according to business objectives.
  • Drive lead time reduction activities to decrease through-put time.
  • Support investment requirements to achieve sales turnover target.
  • Support the business objective of moving from push to pull production.

Required / Preferred Skills:

  • SMED
  • Six Sigma Black belt
  • Demonstrated background in continuous improvement

IT Knowledge:

  • Advance Microsoft office.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (currently SAP)
  • SPC data analysis
