Role overview:
The purpose of this role is to drive the use of lean and six sigma tools to achieve business KPI, financial performance and engage the workforce in a ‘culture of kaizen’. Lead an engaged and empowered workforce to take ownership and fix problems at a local level.
Main Responsibilities:
- Value Stream Analysis
- Collaborate with plant department representatives to assess the current state of the Plant’s operations
- Foster a “culture of kaizen” by change
- Assist in locating Best-in-Class Operations processes, and then facilitate them into the Plant.
- Support other C.I initiatives
- Roll out Lear training modules
- Coach teams and individuals through a logical problem-solving process from problem statement to robust solutions and horizontal deployment.
- Using standard tracking and reporting systems, will prepare detailed plans, drive project performance and assure timely completion and achievement of product/process quality and saving goals.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop a plant C.I. roadmap, bridging business metrics gaps
- Identifies barriers to project success
- Assist the plant department representatives in any strategic initiatives that will help in compliance to standards, implementing new systems, and designing creative solutions that will help in compliance to standards, implementing new systems and designing creative solutions that will continuously improve the plant.
- Facilitate cross-functional expert team to drive breakthrough or Best-In-Class performance in People, Quality, Material Flow or Cost.
- Accountability to impact on operational cost.
Key skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering / Business Studies.
- Experience in a similar role within the automotive industry will be a plus.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Previous experience of Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Statistical knowledge – able to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects
- Ability to work on a number of workstreams at once
- Very strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with people at all levels of the organization
- High attention to detail
- Data driven in approach to problem solving and quantifying results
- Influencing and Analytical skills
