Job description
The Content Writer works with University Connected Learning (UCL) departments, including UOnline and Continuing Education programs, to develop a wide array of content and copy for a variety of platforms, including but not limited to, websites, blogs, newsletters, videos, social media, email campaigns and digital ads. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with programs to conceptualize and write copy to support marketing strategies with a strong understanding of SEO.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with graphic designers, the digital marketing team and stakeholders to create the concept for each project and writes copy across various platforms to support each concept
- Writes and creates content and copy for all departments within UCL as well as collaborating with other university stakeholders when necessary
- Performs research and meets with clients to ensure accurate, timely and targeted copy is developed across various channels
- Acts as account executive to ensure client satisfaction and timely product delivery
- Tracks effectiveness of each marketing/promotional campaign through data analysis and works to improve future campaigns
- Stays current on digital content, social media, communication and email marketing trends.
- Proofreads and edits various materials as needed
- May plan and assist with distribution of advertising materials
- Maintains and exhibits a creative, motivated mindset along with knowledge of marketing and communication competencies
- Works independently while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism
- Thrives in a multitasking environment while delivering exceptional results under tight deadlines

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, English or related field, plus three years professional experience in marketing, advertising, copywriting, directing publication projects or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated ability to develop effective print and broadcast media campaigns. Must possess excellent grammar, proofreading, human relation and effective communication skills.

- Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism or related field preferred
