Digital Commerce Bank, a private Canadian Schedule 1 Bank, is seeking a Content Writer to join its Marketing team. The position will be based in Calgary, AB and will be reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer. The ideal incumbent is one who is highly motivated, accomplishes tasks accurately, effectively, and with minimal supervision. You may also be required to wear multiple hats within the Marketing dept. and complete additional tasks as required.
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Experience and knowledge of payments industry and our products.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in writing and editing with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated proficiency in B2B marketing copywriting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and edit marketing content (e.g., brochures, case studies, videos, web pages, social media, etc.) as well as strategic thought leadership content (e.g., white papers, reports and blogs).
- Collaborate with subject matter experts from across the company to brainstorm ideas, develop messaging, and build a messaging framework for a given project.
- Help evolve our brand messaging, editorial guidelines and writing training, as well as our brand enterprise asset management platform.
- Provide editorial support for the development and implementation of marketing campaigns, collaborating with senior leaders, industry experts, geographic marketing and communications professionals, graphic designers and digital channel experts.
- Help industry and technology experts generate awareness and preference for key offerings by developing go-to-market messages.
- Help improve our content creation and content marketing best practices.
- Assist in creating visual content/elements to go along with written material and ensure SEO best practices are followed.
- Write SEO-focused copy for blogs, social media accounts, guides, landing pages and more.
- Publish and update content on our website that meets the needs of our audience.
- Manage our social media channels and build an engaged following.
- Research the latest business trends and challenges.
- Research topics to improve your knowledge, expand upon topics, and strengthen originality of content.
- Share ideas that shape our marketing strategy at large.
- Work closely and effectively with our teams to communicate ideas, thoughts and strategies regarding content.
- Execute and deliver a wide range of content according to company's necessities.
- Research, brainstorm, and pitch creative and compelling article topics
- Proofread, edit, and submit all content for accuracy and quality prior to publication.
- Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images, and tone)
- Work with our internal teams to identify opportunities and plan improvements to existing content and internal processes.
- Assisting in developing and executing on new social media campaigns and strategies.
- Outreach to media outlets and influencers.
- Finding new contacts within several fields for content placement.

- Ability to work independently and proactively to meet project timelines and deliverables
- Strong interpersonal skills, including confidence to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Can take fragments of information and turn into a compelling story.
- Experience writing long-form, comprehensive blog & white paper content that addresses its target keyword’s search intent.
- Hands-on SEO experience.
- Strong understanding of the digital marketing industry.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a team.
