Salary Range: £28,000 - £40,000 Depending on experience
Location: Eastleigh, hybrid, #smartworking

Content Writer: We have an exciting opportunity for a Content Writer to join our External Affairs Team. The Content Writer will create engaging copy about exciting developments to enhance our reputation among external audiences and build understanding amongst key audiences of brokers and customers.
As a Content Writer the successful candidate will ideally have a background as a PR, corporate communications professional or journalist and have proven experience of writing and editing a wide range of corporate material, preferably of a technical nature.
Please note while this role is based out of our Eastleigh office and working hybrid, there is an expectation to travel to other Ageas sites including, Gloucester, Bournemouth, and London
Main Responsibilities as a Content Writer:
- Build robust relationships with teams across the business to uncover and create case studies and interesting stories that help Ageas communicate its key messages to its varied stakeholders.
- Be the expert writer, creating and editing engaging written material such as case studies, press releases, blogs for senior managers, news articles, social media content, presentations, speeches, awards submissions, reports and documents.
- Work collaboratively with the External Affairs Manager and the wider Communications team to originate and develop creative ideas for use on campaigns that proactively and positively support internal and external communication programmes.
- Champion Ageas UK’s corporate tone of voice, ensuring complex insurance and regulatory language is translated into simple, engaging stories.
- Keep a finger on the news pulse (both internally and externally), ensuring any written content is appropriate and relevant
Skills and experience you need to be successful as a Content Writer:
- Exceptional communication skills and proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written
- Consummate self-starter, able to take the initiative and work well with minimal direction.
- Ability to ‘sniff out’ a good story; able to quickly establish and use a strong network of contacts, internally and externally to the business.
- Natural storyteller with the ability to create and edit a wide range of content, working with the house tone of voice and company brand guidelines.
- An interest in news and public affairs, with the ability to understand how this might impact communications plans
- Highly organised with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
