The Currys Strategist Team create an exciting mix of editorial content for our blog TechTalk and videos for our product pages and online customer journey. Our studios feature a mock Currys store set, product testing lab, and a gaming arena – and we film over 1500 videos a year.
The role reports into the Senior Content and Copywriting Manager. You’ll manage a team of two assistant content managers. This role manages the strategy and planning of content for product, campaigns and initiatives, and oversees the delivery of that content, with accountability for project timings, co-ordination of our content agencies and channel partners plus, performance management.
The Currys content team acts as an in-house agency, and a very big part of this role is generating creative content solutions to marketing briefs. So, a conceptual background would be desirable.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Content strategy and concepts - Delivers innovative, strategy cross-channel content solutions, either to brief or where we’ve spotted an opportunity for content through our customer journey
- Editoral planning and production - Produces, briefs in and manages the production of content for our TechTalk including HowTos, Interviews, Features, and Product Storytelling.
- Performance management. Analyses and reports on content performance and makes continual improvements by joining content performance and audience to business cases to generate budgets to high-performing, engaging, audience relevant content.
- Briefing – communicates content requirements to our agency partners and in-house copywriting team
- Project timings – works with our agencies and internal production team to deliver content to an agreed timeline
- Channel partner support (online, SEO, CRM, retail, social) – creates and supports amplification of channel appropriate content solutions.
- Account management - including client (category/manufacturer) feedback and approvals
Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience developing conceptual, creative solutions to marketing briefs.
- Extensive experience in production management, developing and managing content strategies & managing content teams.
- Ability to mentor and train others
- Experience of working within the retail industry
- Must be able to form excellent working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Must be able to work autonomously and as part of team
- Fantastic working knowledge of production tools, CMS
- Great understanding of how to develop content to suit all channels
- Ability to write coherent strategy documents and principles
