About the Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to: - Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.

Salary: £37,600 - £56,400 + Performance-Related Bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

A content specialist will help develop the content strategy to deliver a seamless and positive employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle. They will work to produce copy & design whilst engaging stakeholders, product owners and developers to ensure content is accurate and high quality. They will have a vision for the overall structure of the content across the entire estate, as well as helping shape the guidelines, producing copy and responsible for quality control.

They will create, consolidate, author, update and clean copy for internal use on SSE’s systems. They may be writing content based on a brief or rewriting current content & will need to help structure content in a logical information architecture.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for (re)structuring content into a logical information architecture & build a strategy for how content will be added and shaped into further iterations.
  • Writing and editing engaging and persuasive copy on a range of topics, for a range of audiences across SSE.
  • Understand and apply content standards and style guidelines along with developing an understanding of SSE’s accessibility requirements.
  • Commission research to understand whether content produced meets user needs whilst using data, research, and evidence to make informed decisions and improvements.
  • Own, create, design, and maintain SharePoint sites and content.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Experience working with an Agile Methodology.
  • Excellent copywriting skills, with the ability to understand complex policy and transform into easy to digest content.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with and manage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills, ability to work to deadlines, dealing with changing priorities whilst managing own time effectively.
