Media Relations and Content Specialist (2 - 4 years of experience)
Interested in working for a fast-paced, growing public affairs consulting firm? We are building a communications team to work on some of the most exciting real estate development, public policy and government affairs projects in the region.
As a Media Relations and Content Specialist at our firm, you will play a vital role in crafting compelling and engaging content that effectively communicates our clients’ messages in alignment with their PR strategies and corporate goals. Your primary responsibility will be to create written materials, including press releases, articles, blog posts, website content, social media posts, and other promotional materials. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled writer to contribute to various PR campaigns and significantly impact our client's success.
This role requires the ability to handle a variety of projects at any one time as well as being able to respond quickly to clients, reporters and team requests. This role may require attendance at morning and night meetings/events. Applicants must be flexible and able to occaisonally work beyond 9-5.

● Self-starter with 2-4 years of experience in content creation, public relations, public affairs, advocacy, journalism or political campaigns
● Communicator with excellent written and presentation skills
● Proven project manager
● Problem solver with solid collaboration and analytical skills
● Curious and zealous news consumer that understands the 24-hour news cycle and follows city/state and federal politics
Responsibilities:
● Produce accurate, consistent and compelling content across a variety of mediums including but not limited to press releases, articles, blog posts, social media posts, newsletters, talking points and website content. Must be able to write in various styles and tones tailored to different audiences.
● Prepare public outreach materials, including speeches, fact sheets, press guidance, and blogs.
● Create, edit and proofread press releases, videos, power point decks and presentations.
● Conduct thorough research to gather information and insights about client industries, competitors, and target audiences to inform content development.
● Participate in client meetings and discussions to understand their needs and goals and to provide content recommendations.
● Maintain social media and websites to include scheduled and unscheduled posting on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
● Closely monitor, track and share client and industry news – and leverage it for regular proactive outreach to reporters on behalf of clients.
● Submit content to various publications in various formats to ensure the widest dissemination of information.
● Examine, share, and document media coverage.
● Maintain contact databases and mailing lists with updates.
● Create project-specific media lists to support PR team.
● Perform a variety of different administrative tasks.
Journalism, Social Media, and Political Campaign experience is a plus as is experience with social media and media monitoring tools (such as TalkWalker, Cision and Prowly).
