What’s the opportunity?
We are looking for Content Moderators (Various Shifts) to provide human moderation support for our Smoothwall Monitor Managed Service offering. You’ll work within our Customer Success team to review the online activity of students in the UK, USA and Australia, identify safeguarding risks and contact Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) within schools as necessary. The work requires a keen eye for detail, an understanding of modern online culture amongst young people and an ability to work at pace whilst making accurate decisions.
Here’s how you’ll do it:
- Reviewing content flagged as requiring human moderation to assess category and risk levels
- Providing human insight and quality assurance to automated assessments of safeguarding content
- Collaborating with colleagues as necessary to resolve content reviews as a team where necessary
- Escalating reviews to supervisors when deemed necessary
- Calling school Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) when required to advise of high-risk activity
- Providing proactive feedback on any emerging trends
- Working in a fast paced environment
Available Shifts
- Mon-fri 2-10.30pm and 1 in 3 weekends
- Full 24-7 shift rotation
- Night shifts- 10.30pm-7am Thursday- Monday
- Part time 5pm-9pm each
What will you bring?
- A good understanding of English
- Very IT literate with a good knowledge of social media, online games & apps used by young people
- Familiarity with online culture and norms
- Quick decision-making skills
- An ability to remain calm and empathetic when under pressure or dealing with difficult situations
- A strong work ethic and ability to stay focused for extended periods
- Excellent customer, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal, literacy, numeracy)
- Strong team player with the ability to work on own initiatives with creative ability to solve problems
Desirable
- Previous web / content moderating experience
- Previous experience of working with vulnerable situations

This role requires the applicant to deal with moderation of content and other circumstances which may be distressing or inappropriate. Welfare services will be available to support the applicant.This role also meets the requirements in respect of exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, any applicants who are offered work for this organisation will be subject to an enhanced check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings as well as convictions. A criminal record will not automatically bar a person from successfully taking up this post.
