Job description
We're looking for a Content Marketing Manager who will conceive and execute a content marketing plan to clarify Speak Media's proposition; generating inbound leads from new clients, reinforcing our value to existing customers, and ultimately helping us achieve our ambitious growth targets. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to the campaigns and projects we execute on behalf of clients in a range of sectors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own and establish a clear brand in the market that raises our profile and reinforces the core Speak Media proposition among all our stakeholders (prospects, clients, partners, internal).
- Ensure that the marketing efforts generate short to medium term qualified leads.
- Create a marketing strategy and plan that delivers on our growth ambitions.

About the role
Working as part of Speak Media’s award-winning team, your key responsibilities will include:
Content Marketing Strategy
- Design a comprehensive content plan and calendar that will strengthen the company's position as a thought leader in the market and help generate inbound enquiries.
- Research, commission and help co-write insightful thought leadership content that will appeal to all key stakeholders: existing and prospective clients, potential employees and existing ones.
- Lead the maintenance and evolution of the company website, ensuring it accurately reflects the company's vision, offering and culture.
- Create briefs for, build and maintain our social media presence on LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.
- Own our email marketing strategy and integrate this with our website and social content calendars.
- Establish the company's style and tone of voice and guidelines, ensuring everything produced is in line with those guidelines, and of a consistently high quality.
Digital Marketing
- Plan and execute all digital marketing, including SEO, marketing database, email, social media campaigns.
- Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI & KPIs).
- Identify trends and insights relevant to our category, and optimise spend and performance based on those insights.
Company Collateral
- Oversee the creation of various forms of company collateral e.g. creds and presentation decks, event materials, etc.
- Ensure that all collateral is up to date and reflective of our brand, positioning and latest insights.
Events/PR
- Organise and manage a small number of events per year: selecting venues, managing budgets, emailing invitations, managing delegate lists, organising catering and logistics, organising speakers etc.
- Work closely with senior management to identify, secure and plan content for thought leadership speaker events, panels etc.
- Identify any suitable PR opportunities, working with our PR agency where appropriate.
Employer Branding
- Work with our HR team to create a strategy that positions Speak as an employer of choice for both potential and existing staff.
- Support the promotion of job vacancies through the company website, social channels etc.
- Identify opportunities (social channels, blog posts, competitions, industry events) to showcase company activities.
New Business Contribution
- Work with the Business Development Director to support the sales process from a marketing perspective.
- Ensure the business is developing successful lead generation campaigns
- Own CRM activities, managing the sales pipeline progress.
Reporting
- Monitor and report on all marketing channels as part of the monthly lead generation tracker, identify what's working/not working and suggest changes or enhancements to activity.
- Work to an agreed marketing budget, tracking and monitoring costs throughout, ensure that allocated spend is being assessed and modified in line with performance.
Client Campaigns
- Advise on content marketing strategy and execution for client content projects/campaigns.
- Take a lead role as and when required on content optimisation and paid promotion for our clients.
About you
We’re looking for someone with:
- At least 3 years' experience working in a content marketing or B2B marketing type role; ideally with agency experience.
- Evidence of success in managing content marketing and/or lead generation campaigns.
- Experience in Hubspot and CRM systems.
- Experience in managing agencies and consultant/freelance resource.
You will have:
- Experience in designing and executing a broad range of content-led marketing activities for a B2B business.
- Knowledge of marketing/social/technology/web tools/CRM, with a specific experience in Hubspot preferable.
- Experience in managing third parties/vendors.
- Experience in organising events.
- Strong writing and content creation skills.
- Strong data literacy skills.
