Overview:
You will be based in the Directorate for Communications and Ministerial Support and provide content support for the gov.scot website – the Scottish Government’s main communications channel.
You will be required to work flexibly across the team, liaising with policy colleagues to create good, user-centred content and you will have the opportunity to broaden your content skills and gain valuable experience of working within a busy communications environment.
Communications Pay supplement
This is a specialist post and carries the communications pay Supplement of £2,000 per annum pro rata rising to £3,750 on completion of 12 months’ successful service.Responsibilities:

1. Strong web writing skills and awareness of plain English and web accessibility.
2. Experience of using content management systems.
3. Excellent attention to detail.
4. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads to ensure deadlines and objectives are met.
Minimum time in post
You will be expected to remain in post for a minimum of three years unless successful at gaining promotion to a higher Band or Grade.
In the event that further posts are required, a reserve list of successful candidates will be kept for up to 12 months.

- Monitoring team mailbox and actioning content requests.
Liaising with team members to discuss handling and prioritisation of content updates.
Creation and update of consistent, user-focused content in line with the gov.scot style, to deadline.
Working on strategic content projects and content improvement projects.
Quality-checking content requests to ensure site standards are met.
Monitoring and acting on site feedback.
