Job description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Content Manager is an integral part of RiseBoros Marketing team, developing content for internal and external audiences that increase engagement and helps further RiseBoros goal of raising the public profile of the organization to widen our base of support.
The Content Manager develops and manages content that can be used across owned, earned and paid media to demonstrate the impact of RiseBoros work on individuals and communities. The role requires a strong storyteller who would gather, manage, write, edit and organize content that engages donors, advocates, clients, and community members. The Content Manager will work with stakeholders across the organization to create the compelling content that furthers RiseBoros mission.
Responsibilities include:
- Implement a creative and engaging content strategy that can be used to demonstrate the impact of RiseBoros work
- Collaborate with departments and subject matter experts across the organization to create new content pieces and stories
- Conduct interviews and research for content pieces and assist with live and other media asset shoots
- Conduct photo research and manage freelance photographers/videographers as relevant to meet needs of the department
- Work in partnership with the rest of the Marketing team to ensure content pieces across the organization have a consistent tone, style, and voice that reflect the overall brand of the RiseBoro
- Serve as a writer in collaboration with executive offices
- Serve as a writer and content creator for the RiseBoros organizational reports and communications, such as the annual report and fundraising efforts
- Organize and manage digital media assets and content using the organizations media asset platform
- Collaborate with outside organizations, writers, and influencers on content partnerships and editorial pieces
- Manage freelance writers and interns, as needed
- Work closely with the marketing and development teams to ensure that content pieces are in line with project goals and meet tight deadlines
- Serve as liaison for some divisions, working closely with them on their work to inform content ideas and topics for the Marketing team
- Other related duties as assigned
COMPETENCIES
- Three to five years of experience in content management required
- 3-5 years of content management experience required
- Strong writing, including business writing, editing and proofreading skills; exceptional attention to detail.
- Creative storyteller with experience developing engaging content that meets strategic goals
- Knowledge of content strategy and optimization for multiple platforms, including website, social, print, and email
- Experience working in Content Management Systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks against deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills; a can-do, collaborative attitude; ability to work with stakeholders across the organization
- Good visual design sense
- Experience creating multimedia content a plus
- Non-profit experience is preferred, but not required
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in marketing, communications or similar field
