Job description
Key information
Bournemouth University’s vision is worldwide recognition as a leading university for inspiring learning, advancing knowledge, and enriching society through the fusion of education, research, and practice. Our highly skilled and creative workforce comprises individuals drawn from a broad cross section of the globe, who reflect a variety of backgrounds, talents, perspectives, and experiences that help to build our global learning community.
We are seeking a Digital Content Coordinator to develop engaging content and information for our audiences, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our output across a range of digital channels.
Working as part of our central Digital Content Team, you will be responsible for making edits to our main website, microsites, and other platforms such as email marketing systems and live events, as required.
Day-to-day, you will need to manage tasks and briefs from start to finish through our digital service desk, in addition to supporting ongoing project work spanning areas such as content auditing, copywriting, proofreading and ensuring compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
The role will involve liaising with colleagues across the university’s different departments and faculties and requires a proactive candidate with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
In addition, you’ll need strong organisational skills and should be able to add value to briefs by clarifying intended outcomes and using data sources such as Google Analytics to inform decisions when appropriate.
The role will require some HTML editing and you should have some experience of working with content management systems (CMSs).
This post is offered on a six-month fixed-term appointment. Consideration may also be given to the post being offered as a secondment opportunity.
This position does not meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System. Therefore, BU will not be able to sponsor individuals who require permission to work to carry out this position.

BU values and is committed to an inclusive working environment. We seek a diverse community through attracting, developing and retaining staff from different backgrounds to contribute to inspirational learning, advancing knowledge and enriching society. To support and enable our staff to achieve a balance between work and their personal lives, we will also consider proposals for flexible working or job share arrangements.
