Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:

AMD seeks a seasoned communications professional with demonstrated experience in planning, writing and editing internal content for a fast-paced, growing global organization. This person will help drive key employee communications programs and deliverables to increase employee engagement throughout the overall organization, including sourcing, writing and publishing of a weekly global employee newsletter. This person will also own all content for the AMD Alumni Network, an online platform that enables us to engage with former AMD employees to promote brand advocacy, career opportunities and community relations activities.

The ideal candidate will be a strong writer who is able to partner with colleagues to tell engaging stories that highlight AMD’s culture, products and innovative approach to creating high performance technologies that solve some of the world’s biggest challenges.

Candidates must have proven success and capabilities developing employee communications for a global company. Candidate must also have experience working with leadership teams, with specific knowledge and experience in the high-performance computing markets being particularly valuable. The ability to collaborate with senior executives, other communicators, business function leads, and employees to align communications messaging across the company is critical.

THE PERSON:

  • Excellent writing and interviewing skills, with great attention to detail, with prior experience in creating internal stories that engage employees within the technology or semiconductor industry
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate complex concepts into compelling narratives
  • The ability to work effectively under deadline and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Impeccable organizational skills
  • Broad understanding of current and emerging platforms for storytelling and e-marketing, including SharePoint intranet, Marketo and internal social media platforms such as Viva Engage
  • Experience with content analytics such as Google Analytics, with a commitment to using measurement to guide effective, data-driven communications practices

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This person will manage development of the weekly employee newsletter and content for the company intranet. This involves working with colleagues to identify and develop internal content that supports broader communications plans and campaigns including sponsorships, events, social responsibility initiatives and employment experience initiatives.
  • The ideal candidate will be a strong writer who is able to partner with colleagues to tell engaging stories that highlight AMD’s culture, products and innovative approach to creating high performance technologies that solve some of the world’s biggest challenges.
  • The position entails developing and managing strong partnerships with C-level and senior business/regional leaders to provide high-quality communications programs that achieve strategic internal culture and engagement objectives.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Corporate communications, internal communications, or public relations experience in a publicly traded, global company.
  • Prior experience in the technology industry, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
  • Extensive reporting and feature-writing experience. The ideal candidate will primarily research, write and create concise communications deliverables that increase employee engagement and align with brand messages and corporate strategic objectives.
  • Familiarity with content authoring and publication on SharePoint, creating pages for the company intranet and developing online contests that drive increased readership of corporate news.
  • Knowledge of best practices for leveraging e-marketing channels to engage with target audiences. While not required, previous experience using Pardot or Marketo is valuable.
  • Deep understanding of how various internal channels (intranet, e-newsletters, internal social media, digital signage) can be used together to achieve greater reach and readership among employees
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships at all levels and work collaboratively with teammates.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
