What’s the role?
Our client is looking for Content Editors to join them on an exciting Government project, carrying out proof reading checks as part of the content team’s QA on written learning content prior to development.
The successful candidates will need to be experienced Content Editors, with Security Clearance, to enable them to work on a confidential Government Project. You will work on all written content before it passes to the eLearning Development Team, and again before courses go live for learners.

Your day-to-day activities will include
- Carry out proof reading checks as part of the content team’s Quality Assurance on written learning content prior to development.
- Alignment with Joint Services Publication for Defence Writing (JSP 101) and an in-house style guide
- Recording common errors and inconsistencies (to support the Team Lead in the development of an in-house style guide)
- Formatting text within provided templates
- Completing ‘first reader’ sense checks of content and flagging up ambiguous content for the Digital Content Authors to rewrite
- Providing feedback to Digital Content Authors on the use of Plain English
- Carry out post-development checks
- Proofreading online content for any typographical and spelling errors introduced in the development process;
- Checking functionality of online features (such as links, accordions, hotspots, and buttons) and documenting any errors;
- Checking media captions and transcripts for accuracy; and
- Proofreading alternative format documents for formatting, typographical and spelling errors.
What knowledge, skills & experience we need
- Security Clearance (SC) preferable
- Excellent knowledge of English language essential
- Experience in a publishing house is advantageous
- Thorough and strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- The ability to use your initiative
- The ability to work well with others
- Excellent written communication skills
