Acteon provides a range of industry-leading products and services to support marine and subsea projects for renewable energy, nearshore construction and oil and gas sectors across all phases of the lifecycle. We engineer solutions and integrated services using data and knowledge-based insight across our customers' floating and fixed marine infrastructure.

Acteon are currently recruiting for a Content Creator to join the team on a full time, permanent basis.

Based at their facility in Norwich or Aberdeen, the successful candidate will be an energetic, independent, and organised content creator who will help deliver our ambitious marketing communications strategy.

You will be responsible for overseeing the creation and publication of high-quality, engaging written content that informs our readers. You will work closely with our marketing campaign leads, ensuring that storytelling is accurate, timely, and meets our editorial standards. You will also be responsible for identifying new content opportunities and working with our technical authorities to develop engaging propositions that resonate with our audience's pain points.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain a detailed and accurate knowledge of each campaign area and our products and services to maximise editorial opportunities and approach
  • Author, review, edit, and update engaging content across the portfolio and through all digital channels including publications, case studies, videos, PR, blogs, social media
  • Support marketing campaign leads to develop absorbing thought leadership stories that resonate with our audience's pain points
  • Edit and proofread content for accuracy, grammar, and tone and voice before publishing
  • Identify new content opportunities, develop storytelling ideas and new, engaging ways of delivery
  • Use social media channels to engage our readers, respond to questions, and promote company initiatives
  • Develop editorial standards and guidelines and ensure that all content meets those standards
  • Collaborate with other members of the marketing communications team to ensure a consistent tone and voice across all content
  • Set clear objectives, gather and interpret audience insight, selecting appropriate digital channels with peers to drive the change programme for 'digital first'
  • Conduct research and interviews to learn about current industry news and trends, developments, and perceptions about subjects
  • Interview thought leaders and technical authorities from within Acteon and our brands and incorporate their views in content including blog posts
  • Manage relationships with external contributors and freelance writers
  • Develop high standards of evaluation measures to collect, analyse and report on each type of communications activity to influence future approaches
  • Utilize SEO methods to increase site traffic and the quality of editorial content for online channels
  • Working with the digital team to provide regular reports on content performance and engagement across our channels
  • Assist the creative team with the design of promotional materials and video content where relevant and ensure adherence to our brand guidelines
  • Managing a busy workload through effective project management; collaboratively prioritise and navigate conflicting demands


Requirements

  • Excellent general education
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Degree, diploma or qualification in English, marketing/journalism and/or proven relevant experience
  • Minimum of five years' experience with a proven track record of achievement and delivery
  • Relevant industry experience gained from the renewables, oil and gas, and/or marine construction industries would be desirable but not essential
  • Working in a large organisation, developing and managing external B2B communication activities, plans, and marketing material
  • Creativity, with a flair for storytelling, copywriting, an eye for design and the willingness to take a hands-on approach alongside creative specialists to deliver best-in-class content
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, proofreading, and editing
  • An ability to analyse complex and technical information, simplify stakeholder requirements and communicate it effectively to a range of audiences
  • Developing value proposition methodology and concepts to uncover customers' needs
  • Excellent organisational skills with real attention to deadlines and detail, very high-quality standards, and principles when it comes to brand integrity
  • A hands-on user of digital platforms (e.g., website CMS, social media, SEO tools)
  • Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • The capacity to work independently and collaboratively
  • A self-starter attitude with a diverse array of interests and a thirst for knowledge
  • Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy
  • A creative spark with a proven ability to think outside of the box
  • Experience with WordPress CMS preferred
  • A passion for communicating through video and motion
  • Expertise with post-production tools including video editing software
  • Some knowledge of graphic design beneficial
