The BBC Proms is the biggest classical music festival in the world. We run over 100 live events over 2 months in the summer at the Royal Albert Hall in London and venues around the UK. Nearly everything we do is broadcast across BBC Radio, TV and online. We are a creative, innovative festival that connects with audiences around the UK and across the globe.
You would be part of a dynamic team that looks after Marketing, Learning, Communications, Publications, Business or Live Events. You will build skills in your chosen area and everyone on the team has a chance to work at events. It’s a real team effort.
We’re looking for a Content Assistant to join the Business Team. Working and communicating with a wide range of people from external Artists, Orchestras & Choirs, Publishers, Agents to BBC Internal Departments this role will administer the complimentary and promoter ticket requirements. We are a small team that works very closely with Marketing, Communications and Live Events, and there are opportunities to grow your skills in these areas such as setting up systems and supporting on admin and Events throughout the Proms Season.
In any single week at the BBC Proms you could be working on events for singer Cynthia Erivo, the London Symphony Orchestra with conductor Simon Rattle, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, sitar-player Anoushka Shankar and the BBC Orchestras and Choirs.

Are you the right candidate?You don’t need any knowledge of classical music to play a part in the Proms; if you have great planning, organising and communication skills, good attention to detail and a flexible approach, we want to hear from you. We’re looking for someone with experience of working in administration in a busy office environment who is confident dealing with lots of different people. You’ll be able to work well on your own initiative as well as enjoy supporting a team working to deadlines and under pressure. Proms work is highly intensive between June and August, therefore it would be helpful if candidates could declare any holiday plans in their application or at interview stage.
