II. FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY:
The Container Leasing Coordinator will be a member of a central Global Coordination function for Triton Container Sales (“TCS”) and Dry Van Product Management (“DVPM”), with team responsibility to help achieve the best match between Triton’s supply and demand for sale and lease. This role coordinates closely with area marketing teams and product management with a particular focus on global inventory optimization, including achieving the best sales values net of inventory and logistic costs or revenues. This role will be a part of Triton’s global team responsible for best in class management of Triton’s revenue generation and cost management.
III. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supporting Logistics and Global Inventory Management
- Provide Administrative Support and Coordination to Triton’s global logistics functions.
- Develop relationship with existing logistics users and vendors, providing quotations and close transaction, under the guidance of the department Manager.
- Setting up one way leasing contracts in our system and coordinating the issuing of releases internally and externally.
- Main point of contact for queries/questions relating to all one-way activity of our containers within Europe and Africa.
- Working with the department Manager to help identify needs and opportunities to match our surplus and deficit requirements.
- Coordinating with our Regional Sales and Inventory management teams to establish and continually update their demand and surplus locations.
- Maintain and distribute such surplus/deficit lists on a regular basis.
- Continual global communication with our Sales Teams to advise expected volumes of units moving between regions, and matching this against the current demands.
- Monitoring and following up (internally and externally) on the prompt pick-up of one-way releases issued.
- Chasing customers for the return of units released under one-way leases – “Track and Trace”.
- Working with customers and Account Managers to provide solutions for misused one-way units.
- Monitor and report empty repositioning activity globally, ensuring that operations colleagues are continual notified of units departing and arriving.
- Maintain an overview of Triton’s global sale inventory, providing guidance to regional sales teams where required. Particular emphasis of our NP Trading stocks on the ground.
- Assist with and coordinate the exceptional redeliveries. Communicating directly with shipping-line customers as required to direct the return of containers into desired locations.
- Maintain and provide visibility of sale inventory problems (e.g. long idle days, low priced areas, high throughput costs etc.) to regional sales teams. Work with area sales management on development of specific action plans in problem locations. Helping to mobilize additional Triton resources where appropriate, monitoring and reporting progress through resolution.
General Tasks
- Work with appropriate colleagues to develop reports, analysis and tools as required and necessary.
- Working with internal analysts to assist to provide regular reports and data to TCS leadership team, showing results related to sale logistic moves, including One-Way volumes and gain, Direct Delivery performance, etc.
- Provide support and assistance to TCS and DVPM leadership team as required.
- Provide administrative support to European Regional Sales Managers as required.
- Assist with maintaining the TCS global customer base directory.
- Visit Regional Offices as required, and maintain a high level of communication with the TCS Sale and Marketing teams.
- Attend internal meetings as required.
- Understand and adhere to Triton’s policies at all times.
- Other responsibilities and projects which may arise.
IV. REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- College degree or equivalent work related experience required.
- A least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role required.
- Experience working in a container shipping/leasing industry required.
- Previous sales/marketing experience a plus.
- Competent with PC/Microsoft program suite (especially Excel).
