What will I be doing as Consumer PR Manager?
As the Consumer PR Manager at LNER you will generate effective and positive consumer publicity in the media. You will be responsible for developing creative and engaging content for business-wide PR campaigns and will build the LNER reputation with key existing and potential audiences using best practice in influencing, product placement and case studies.
The role requires the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business, quickly establishing personal credibility, and to develop and maintain effective working relationships with high-level stakeholders. The role will require some out of business hours working as you will be part of the 24/7 press office team.
What else will I have responsibility for as a Consumer PR Manager?
- You will support the delivery of the LNER business plan, developing PR strategies and impactful/engaging consumer campaigns both standalone and to complement brand campaigns maximising PR impact across all media channels.
- Proactively bring ideas to the table to maximize PR benefit of LNER initiatives in the consumer marketplace – ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Collaboratively work across other directorates as well as external partners such as Department for Transport, Rail Delivery Group and Network Rail.
- Support the Head of Media in communications and budget planning.
- Project manage as required for PR events and other media activity.
What will I need to be a Consumer PR Manager?
As a specialised role within the business, we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running within the team. We are looking for someone who is educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject area or equivalent through experience. Additionally...
- Experience in managing consumer PR campaigns and events.
- Knowledge of how to construct PR strategies and identify opportunities to maximise positive coverage.
- Ability to operate within a complex environment and be able to assimilate information quickly and easily.
- Experience working with external agencies.
- Collaborative team player.
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative.
- Stakeholder management skills.
- Project management experience.
