Our client is a high performing NHS trust with a progressive and rapidly developing radiology department. The radiology department is located on the ground floor of the hospital and most modalities are in the main department, MR having a static unit close by and a mobile unit in the carpark. Radiologists currently have their own offices. The successful applicant will be allocated either their own office or shared with one other consultant. Each office has a dual screen reporting workstation. The radiology department is a founding member of the Yorkshire Imaging Collaborative and has a very active role in shaping radiology within the region. The Appointee will be provided with a home reporting station providing access to Radiology and opportunity for insourcing across the Yorkshire region. There are many opportunities for teaching and training. The department has a rotational cohort of radiology trainees from the Leeds /West Yorkshire training scheme. These are a mixture between general placements and speciality placements with opportunity to increase speciality rotations if an applicant wishes.
Our client are looking for an appointee whom is confident with spinal imaging and intervention. Other specific interests that are considered beneficial include non-vascular interventional, paediatric, gynaecology, GI and cross sectional imaging. Alternative specialist interests would be. The successful appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties within the trust, these include: Joint responsibility with other consultants in Radiology for the full range of radiological services provided by the Trust, participate in Weekend working to provide reporting and CT/MRI supervision, participate in the provision of cover on a shared basis with colleagues for the absence of consultant colleagues, regularly devote time for the training of junior medical staff, contributing as appropriate to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education, participate in the recruitment of junior medical staff and staff of other disciplines as appropriate. To assist the Human Resources Department to follow the local and national employment policies and procedures, expected to take an active role in the development of Resource Management and to assist in the preparation of business plans & participate in Clinical Governance and audit.
