The growth of general medicine has been highlighted since the covid pandemic and the need is already a significant speciality for the inpatient wards at St Richard's Hospital. There are currently three inpatient wards dedicated to GIM. It is also highlighted as the speciality to take care of covid patients.
We expect this only to increase and so are continually developing our services and strategy development so that we are a team that meets the needs of our population, our organisation and our staff. We are passionate about providing safe care to our population at the right time, in the right place, by the right people and want to work with our local and national stakeholder to develop new pathways benefitting both our patients and our hospitals.
As a department we understand the difficulties and pressure that have been experienced in recent years and want to work together to develop real sustained change within our teams to ensure job satisfaction and personal fulfilment. We believe our strongest asset is our workforce and have to invest in this precious resource to build services fit for the future. This vision is what sets us apart and we welcome visits or informal discussions about what you can bring to this.
