Job description
I have been assigned by an NHS Trust in the UK to help them recruit a Consultant in Anaesthetics on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months.
Our client has over 4,000 staff, they are one of the biggest employers in East of England, supporting the health and wellbeing of the local community. They have 518 beds, 18 wards, a budget of circa £220m and provides a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based services to those who live in the three counties of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. They in fact, have a wide-ranging and diverse portfolio of clinical studies and are recognised as one of the fastest trusts in the country from set up to recruitment.
The appointee will be asked to undertake various duties, these will include: providing a Consultant anaesthetic service for elective and emergency surgery, providing high quality patient care, minimising risks and maintaining patient safety in accordance with the GMCs Good Medical Practice, providing help in the delivery of effective services within the agreed budget, co-operation with other departments and agencies to meet the objectives of the Anaesthetic Department, accepting the fact they have to work flexibly within a nominally fixed timetable, helping provide training, supervision and career development to junior doctors of all grades in the Anaesthetic Department and contributing to the education of medical and nursing students, paramedics and trainees in other specialities as required. In fact, they have recently increased our teaching commitments to the medical schools within the area. In addition, will be asked to maintain the Directorate principles of effective multi-disciplinary team working & assist with clinical governance and audit duties.
