There are opportunities for Consultants in Intensive Care Medicine to join an established, enthusiastic team mainly based at the Queen’s Hospital Burton (QHB).
We will aim to accommodate specialist interests.
10PA jobs are available with 1.5 SPA. Additional sessions are available on mutual agreement.
On call is currently, ITU only with a 1:6 frequency with ambitions to reduce this frequency to 1:8. The unit is well supported by middle grade & trainee cover both in and out of hours.
Interview dates will be arranged to suit potential candidates.
A 10PA job is available with 1.5 SPA. Additional sessions are available on request. Any candidate who wishes to work less than full time will be considered and supported, taking into account service needs.

The associated medical equipment features patient monitor and ventilator integration alongside side our electronic records and electronic prescription platforms. Numerous ultrasound systems are available for bedside use to enhance POC decision making. Renal therapies are delivered with modern citrated anticoagulation modalities. We envisage a significant shift towards enhanced care pathways as suggested by FICM and the opportunity to develop these is unrestricted.
Candidates wishing to do anaesthetics lists at the Royal Derby Hospital will be accommodated following discussion with the clinical lead.

ICU consultants will have office space on the unit and there is shared secretarial support.
