Job description
We have a great opportunity for an apprentice to train as a Maintenance Engineer in our busy St Asaph injection-moulding and extrusion facility. Our business is growing and we need to expand our maintenance capabilities across the group. We are looking for a bright individual who has an interest in Engineering and ready to take on a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Maintenance Engineering or Mechatronics. We will ensure that you have some work experience in our factory, before we start you with our local college in the Engineering Department on day release.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
At the beginning you will spend time on the shop-floor learning our processes and equipment. Eventually you will learn on the job and at college to be able to take on more responsibilities as follows;
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance in scope of your abilities on our machines and ancillary equipment
- Carry out building and facility maintenance in scope of your abilities
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- A hands on person with a natural ability for engineering
- 5 GCSEs (Grade 4 & above) including English & Maths
- BTEC in Engineering would be an advantage
- Some work experience would be a big plus
- A conscientious attitude to work
- Good time keeping and organisation skills
HOURS
Our maintenance teams work with our production teams on shifts (40 hours per week). You will have a flexible attitude to working outside of normal hours, including occasional weekends.
