Job overview
We are looking for a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist to be our Clinical Lead for the new Greater Manchester Major Trauma Centre at Salford Care Organisation. Applicants will need to hold the Division of Neuropsychology's (DoN) Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN), or be nearing completion.
You will be based within the Clinical Neuropsychology Department at the Salford Care Organisation and will provide a clinical service to the Major Trauma wards that will include working with patients, families, and staff. You will be responsible for strategic development and service evaluation for neuropsychology within the the inpatient services, and will work alongside MDT colleagues to deliver and promote the service via the provision of MDT-working, teaching, training, and research. There will also be line management and clinical supervision responsibilities for other members of the neuropsychology team within the Major Trauma service,
This is therefore an excellent opportunity to be at the forefront of neuropsychology developments within the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences.
Main duties of the job
You will be a part of the Department of Clinical Neuropsychology at Salford Royal and so regular, specialist supervision will be provided by our Joint Head of Service. You will also be able to access peer supervision and support from other members of the department. We are a well-established service consisting of a friendly and supportive team that provides specialist clinical neuropsychology services in the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences, as well as in a number of other services across Greater Manchester.

Registration / Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Eligibility for membership of the British Psychological Society and Division of Clinical Psychology is required.
- Eligibility for membership of the Division of Neuropsychology is essential.
- HCPC Registration
- Honours Degree in Psychology
- Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology
- Postdoctoral Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN) and related eligibility for Division of Neuropsychology Specialist Register in Clinical Neuropsychology (SRCN) via this or the grand-parenting scheme.
Desirable criteria
- Academic qualification such as Diploma or MSc in Research Methodology or PhD.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Considerable previous experience in a regional neuroscience centre or clinical psychology service affiliated to a neuroscience centre.
- Previous experience of patients undergoing rehabilitation and exhibiting challenging behaviour in a inpatient setting.
- Prior experience of multidisciplinary team (MDT) working.
- Previous experience of providing line management and clinical supervision to qualified Clinical Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists.
Desirable criteria
- Prior experience of service development
- Prior experience of research activity.
