The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services at King’s College Hospital (KCH) sites at Denmark Hill in Camberwell and at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) in the London Borough of Bromley.
The Trust is recognised internationally for its work in liver disease and transplantation, neurosciences, cardiac, haemato-oncology, fetal medicine, stroke, major trauma, and Emergency Department.

The Department of Anaesthesia at the Princess Royal University Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic and committed anaesthetist to join our friendly and progressive team.
The successful candidate must have evidence of broad experience in all aspects of Anaesthesia. A special interest is encouraged and can be accommodated.
The Princess Royal University Hospital has 525 beds, with further beds and operating theatres at Orpington Hospital, and two operating theatres at Queen Mary Hospital, Sidcup. The hospitals serve the local population of the London Borough of Bromley and surrounding areas and are based in the leafy suburban towns of Orpington and Sidcup. This is a highly sought-after location due to its close proximity to many well-regarded primary, secondary and Grammar schools, as well as restaurants, cafes and bars. It is minutes away from Bromley town centre, which has extensive retail and leisure facilities, and regularly appears in the list of the annual top 50 places to live in the UK. The Kent countryside is in close proximity, offering peace and quiet and recreational activities. Many staff live in the local areas, enhancing the community spirit within the hospitals. For those who live further afield, the area is served by fast rail links to central London and a good local bus service, in addition to being 20 minutes’ drive from the M25.

The 10 PA post include 8.5 PAs for DCC and 1.5 SPAs, for responsibilities that will be agreed at job planning. The job plan includes provision of anaesthetics for weekend lists and an on-call commitment. You will be expected to work flexibly throughout the week including weekends and out of hours.

As a Consultant Anaesthetist you will be responsible for supporting your Clinical Manager in ensuring that our service users’ needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person-centred approach to their independence and well-being.
You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a Licence to Practice and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent to be eligible for interview.
The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable adults and/or children (0-18 years), therefore this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
