We are recruiting for a Construction Teacher at a secondary alternative provision school in the Failsworth area catering for young people aged 11-16 with Social & Emotional needs.
About the role:
- Construction Teacher at a good secondary alternative provision in Failsworth.
- Start date - ASAP.
- Full time - Monday to Friday - 8:30am-4pm.
- Temp to perm arrangement so will go on to contract for the right person.
- Pay up to £170/day dependent on experience and qualification.
- Teaching pupils Construction based skills that can equip them for work life after education.
- Pupils are working at lower levels to young people in mainstream school.
- You will need to engage the pupils, build relationships quickly and have an ability to manage challenging behaviours.
- If you have worked as a Construction Lecturer or Construction Assessor before in Post 16 then you will also be considered for this role.
- Unqualified teachers will be considered so long as they can evidence a track record of teaching Construction.

- Secondary Alternative Provision school in the Failsworth area.
- Rated good by Ofsted.
- Easily accessible from Manchester, Oldham, Tameside, Middleton, Bury & Salford.
- No more that 8 pupils per class with a high ratio of Teaching Assistant & Behaviour Support staff to pupils.
- Co-located with vocational facilities including boxing & martial arts.
- Aim to help students find confidence and independence so that they can find enjoyment in life after school and make an active and positive contribution to society.
About the pupils:
- Pupils are aged 11-16 and have an EHCP for Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs (SEMH).
- Pupils need support managing emotions and behaviour.
- Many are working at lower levels than their peers in mainstream school.
- Some students have other needs such as Autism, ADHD, ODD or Dyslexia.
