General Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the Design and Construction process.
- Administers the selection process of the Architect/Engineer and any other consultants that are to be involved in the Project.
- Leads and directs the progress including initial planning, scope development, contracting, construction administration, and closeout; maintaining day to day project level leadership responsibility throughout the project life cycle.
- Define the project's objectives, determine the appropriate partners, and oversee quality control while meeting strict deadlines and managing the project budget.
- Responsible to prepare, manage and support the documentation required for a post-performance review, audit or other governing agency process inspection.
- Manages and monitors contract budgets; interacts with the Division Fiscal Manager to reconcile contracts and budgets and to report on monthly cash flow activities.
- Participates and manages the project design consultants in the development of plans and specifications.
- Support design team activities and facilitates timely decision-making.
- Guides design decisions by project stakeholders, to maintain the project scope within the approved budget. Coordinates the value engineering process.
- Prepares schematic, preliminary, and construction document submittals.
- Obtains or assists in the procurement of all required plan reviews prior to bidding.
- Ensures compliance with regulations and all authorities having jurisdiction.
- Fully administer all contractor bidding.
- Creates the documents for and manages the Contractor selection process and subcontractor bidding process.
- Prepare Request for Qualifications (RFQs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) along with managing pre-qualification process for bids.
- Supervise and consult with and provide direction to contracted architects, engineers, consultants and specialty vendors.
- Experience in implementing and executing energy-efficient projects involving energy retrofits, solar and battery storage
- Proven working experience in construction management (minimum 15 years)
- CSU Experience is preferred
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
- Understanding all facets of the construction process
- Familiarity with construction management software packages
- Experienced in education-building infrastructure preferred
- Leadership and human resources management skills
- Excellent time and project management skills
- BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field. Alternatively, an inspection diploma or another related construction trade diploma

Salary: $174,000-$185,000
Level: Mid to Senior
