Job description
Plan, co-ordinate and deliver the day to day ‘on the ground’ works to ensure that all project milestones are successfully achieved or improved upon by ensuring that you are available to manage the necessary programme commitments.
- Liaise closely with the Contractor’s Responsible Engineer (CRE) to ensure the project is completed to the correct specification.
- Liaise with all functions of the project (Operations Management, Project Managers, Supervisors, Commercial, Procurement, Installation, Stores, Project Planner, HSQE Team etc.) to ensure all interfaces (inputs and outputs) are effectively managed and maintained throughout all levels.
- Ensure the ‘on the ground’ works are progressed as planned and any risks to programme are immediately identified and contingency measures implemented to provide minimal impact to programme and critical path activities.
- Ensure processes are implemented to effectively control site works and that those activities are documented in a co-ordinated and effect way.
- Assist in the production of WPP’s/TBS’s/Method statements for the planned work. Briefing approved WPP to delegated personnel preparing TBS.
- To oversee the works for which they are responsible, to the correct specification ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with the WPP/TBS/Method Statement identifying issues and potential changes to the site process and requirements.
- Undertake surveillance/ inspection activities of the works as required to ensure satisfactory performance.
- Manage resource allocation to ensure that the right people (number and competencies), plant and materials are in the right place at the right time.
- Ensure that all personnel deployed are trained and competent for the task.
- Reports - Daily Record Sheets produced (in the agreed format) at the end of each working shift, detailing activities undertaken by each team for progress to date. Timely, detailed possession reporting is undertaken (in the agreed format) and produced for the PM/ Client.
- Attend project meetings/health and safety meetings as required to support the construction activities
- Ensure that works are completed Safely within the constraints of the Health, Safety and Environmental policies and statutory requirements applicable to the Company and Project respectively.
- Ensure works are implemented in compliance with the contract requirements in accordance with the Quality Plan/Inspection and Test Plan and that the required levels of quality are achieved on a consistent basis.
- Upon completion of the project milestones attend any close out meetings if necessary, to clarify customer satisfaction with the work undertaken.
- Maintain good communications both with on-site personnel, the client and the site management team.
